How are you?
Let’s kick this week off good & right, friends!
Greet and inquire about people as you encounter them, do your very best at whatever tasks await you today, and keep recycling those good thoughts/feelings to the surface.
Your day is in your hands... So have a good one or have the best one. Have the day you desire to have and willing to contribute the efforts to have.
Good morning, friends!
Tuesday is here and with it the month of October.
This is such an important time, as many if not most people are preparing to recognize breast cancer awareness. I ask that each of you also take time to recognize domestic violence awareness. Last year I did the Purple Heart challenge and each year I try to get as much purple and information/resources out there in honor of domestic violence awareness as there is for breast cancer awareness.
These are two incredibly significant health concerns that plague many individuals and families. I believe there is space in our hearts, minds, and actions to recognize both. That is the challenge. We have a bad habit of only being able to focus on one news story, one world disaster, one politics mishap at a time... forgetting the previous as we move on to the next... or believing we can only support one team, one truth with all our might sacrificing recognition of another.
Truth is... October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s estimated over 42,000 lives (men and women) will be lost to breast cancer this year. It is the #2 cause of cancer related deaths in women.
Truth is... October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In a year more than 10 million (men and women) individuals will have experience intimate partner violence. It accounts for 15% of all violent crime and 72% of all murder-suicides.
You do not have to choose. Stand for these truths...all of them. Arm yourself, your friends, family, communities with information... and act when, where and how you can.
(So early I know)
It’s Wednesday though! You’ve made it halfway and you’re okay. Use today, friends.
Don’t ignore your needs or the needs of others... especially if you have the ability to intervene. We want to exercise that humanistic love within our spheres. Make sure it’s moving to, through, and from us. Let’s look after the health and we’ll being of our minds and spirits so we stay lifted up enough to extend a hand the next person.
Use today, friends. Use your words carefully. Use your actions benevolently.
We are running through this week friends, omg. But I ain’t mad at it. I hope this week has been good for you so far and continues to be so.
Of course that is a matter of perspective. So I hope you’re practicing a perspective that is good for you and continue to do so.
There’s plenty of time and space in today to work on whatever it is you desire to improve about yourself, your work, your relationships, and more. So work it out today! You got this!
Omg what sweet sweet chills we’re waiting for me outside when I walked Nick this morning! I got to wear a jacket )
Good morning, on what I hope stays a cool October day! And happy Friday, friends!
This week moved very quickly, but I do hope you found time to address your needs, goals, tasks, relationships, any lessons learned, and what have you. I hope you made time to acknowledge what and who you have to be thankful for and all that fuels your joy.
Today I urge you to keep all of that handy, at the forefront of your mind and heart as you go through today. Remember who you want to be and step into that now. Good character is not dependent on your circumstances . A better, healthier self is not dependent on your circumstances.
Enjoy your day, your weekend, and all the people with whom you’ll share them. Take care.
