MARCH 23-27, 2020
Hello! Good morning!
Remember what you’re capable of & what you still have to be grateful for. Remember that there is a sliding scale of effects for everyone and you are not alone in adversity. Remember you are loved and to lean into that love by reaching out to dear friends and family when feeling low. Remember your health still matters, your life, your routine, your abilities, your mind, heart, words and actions...
Remember each day is still yours to choose to use, to live and love well.
Last night I had a video chat poetry reading with some friends and it was really sweet! We talked about how this current situation prompted us to do this but how we could be doing this regardless.
There are a lot of beautiful things regarding humanity being exposed right now and some very real deficits/flaws as well.
I urge you to exercise grace and understanding, be a part of the virtues of humanity, and the moments that help others realize it’s okay to be good when you’re scared & selfless when you’re threatened.
Y’all what know what Wednesday’s are about... right now that’s everyday! Make sure you’re talking to people, checking in.... everyone doesn’t do well in isolation so reach out!
Dedicating this post to a sound off! How are you doing/feeling? How are your family, friends, roommates? What are you doing to stay sane? Do you need suggestions or to vent? Comment or message me!
WE are in this.
We are getting through this week. I know it’s been longer for some than others but here to encourage you to STILL rise & STILL shine!
Say your mantras, prayers, or statements of affirmation. Do at least step outside your door or go on the balcony because sunlight has a powerful way of turning the mind & body around. Take up a new task or invent one. Talk to folks that are available. Read. Have a lengthy self care routine.
You have to keep starting, friends. Good to hear from some of you yesterday! Let’s keep at it!
As I sat and pondered about what I wanted to share with you all this morning to keep your spirits lifted and encourage you to remain steadfast in serving our community... I came across this video, a message by a friend that I so needed and am truly grateful to have seen.
This announcement and invitation from one of my beloved Houston bands, a group of friends with big hearts and beautiful minds illustrates the energy and inspiration we desperately need to hold on to in the midst of our distancing while offering a unique opportunity. Couldn’t help but share this and allow it to serve as today’s greeting/challenge.
So excited for new music during this difficult period...and hope you all are continuing to find ways to stay safe/healthy, as well as build intimacy and humanity.
