MARCH 2-6, 2020
New day, new week, new month! Spring is approaching and I know it is notorious for being a busy season for most!
Whether it be a work, home, just all around life centered sort of busy, consider what you want out of this time. What are you hoping to start or finish? What sort of intentional service or good would you like to do? What are the ways we want to take better care of ourselves and others?
Whatever this season has in store for you both planned and unplanned, stay true to the person you want to be during the ups and the downs.
It starts here, with today. Let’s get it.
Every start to every day is your set up. How are you setting up this morning? With goals in mind, with hopes for the day, with good intentions for yourself/those around you? Maybe your concern for today is to maintain inner peace in hopes of acquiring outer peace or greeting more people or finishing an additional task at work to free up some time later...
Hopefully there is something you want out of today, otherwise it may be difficult to make the most of it. Regardless of whether it’s internal or external, be intentional with your set up this morning. Consider what sort of mental, physical, and emotional space you might want to be in to best accomplish your goals for the day.
Already halfway through the week, friends... It’s a good day to pause, see who or what might need our attention that hasn’t been getting it.
Sometimes it’s ourselves... at times tasks, relationships, projects, your community, your job, habits we’re building, habits we’re quitting... VOTING.... who knows? Could be anything. It might even just be that how we are being/doing might need our attention a bit more than the “what”...
Regardless, each of us has something that we could afford to give a little more of our time, attention, effort to today. Something for our own betterment. Something that might be just as beneficial to those interacting with us.
Think about what that is.
Leaning in to peace and understanding this morning as the week continues.
I hope that in all today holds for you, you are able to reach and maintain these things as well. Actively seek them out in your interactions, environment, tasks.... Let them be the guide for your thoughts, speech, and actions today.
See how it feels, the difference it makes.
Listen, listen.... this week is significant. For whatever reasons you may have noticed and likely for some you have yet to recognize. Take some time to reflect on it today. Whenever you get a couple minutes, take a deep breath and think about what you learned, accomplished, where you messed up, what could have been done better, what moments were unexpected, what made you smile or laugh this week, what didn’t?? Whatever questions and answers you can muster because it’s all incredibly valuable to you and good for you to acknowledge these things.
This week is significant... “is” because it’s not over. Each and every day in it held a unique course of events for you and today is no different. Reflect a little today and see if that carries some positive influence for today’s course.
Enjoy your day, weekend, and the lovely people in it. Take care.
