Take a mental break from your Super Bowl feelings and acknowledge today, those around you if you’re already up & our, and of course your presence, things/people you’re thankful for.
Take a breather and think about what you have to bring to the table, who you want to be here and now, and one thing you hope to accomplish.
Take this morning, your morning and set up your mind & spirit for the kind of day you’d like to have.
Put my scrubs in the dryer before getting dressed every cold/chilly morning. Yes it feels amazing putting on warm clothes but also something about it just instantly relaxes and sweetens the whole trying to hurry and get out of the house process.
A little thing.
I know people like to say “it’s the little things”...
And I believe we mean it when we do, but in the midst of early mornings, stressful tasks/interactions, hardships, what have you.... we start expecting big things from everyone including ourselves. We stop exercising understanding because of whatever big bad feeling has overwhelmed us and our hurt or frustration makes its way out and around us.
So we have to try a little harder on our rough days to say it, mean it, and ultimately seek it. The little things are weighted with more kindness than we sometimes care to notice.
So be a giver & receiver of little things today.
(from this SNOW day!!)
Yes no work/school but still up, looking at all this snow and listening to the sound of the people crunching through it... pets have been fed, candles have been lit lol
It’s Wednesday!! So whether you’re stuck at home like yours truly or out & about, remember to turn your human eyes on, to pack your human heart, and warm up your human hands. Even from home, there are ways to acknowledge and address someone/people, to reach out beyond ourselves.
We have no problem overextending ourselves for work, tasks of passion, “things we love” but how often do we do it for PEOPLE?? Human beings!??
Consider tipping those scales a bit, friends.
Today, I hope you’re staying warm and productive. I hope you’re getting the rest you may need, or taking advantage of opportunities to exercise your mind/body as you may need. Today I hope you’re reminded of what you, your thoughts, words, actions, the very look on your face is capable of.
I hope this and more for you, today. What do hope hope for you, for anyone else today?
As the we head into the weekend, remember to pause... even if for just a minute today to reflect on at least one notable thing this week... be it a lesson learned, accomplishment, new acquaintance, reconciliation, a loss, a misfortune, whatever it might have been. Choose something to reflect on.
And as you go about this day, try to adopt a spirit of humility and gratitude from what you reflected on... let that be the compass for your speech and actions, for your willingness, your openness, your humanness.
Enjoy today, friends. Enjoy your weekend. Enjoy the people around you.
